Xiaomi has now officially released the new Redmi Note 5 & the Redmi Note 5 Pro. The launch took place in India and it shows that prices start at €125/$155 for the Redmi Note 5 & €176/$218 for the Redmi Note 5 Pro. The two devices will be available online via Flipkart & Mi.com & offline through retail partners.

The Redmi Note 5 Pro is a brand new phone making its global first appearance in India. It comes with the exact 5.99-inch display as the Redmi Note 5 but with a new Snapdragon 636 processor with 4+4 Kryo 260 CPU clocked at 1.8GHz & Adreno 509 GPU.
You have a choice of 4GB or 6GB RAM together with & 64GB of storage. On the rear is a new dual camera system packed with a 12MP f/2.2 primary camera & 5MP f/2.0 depth sensor. The front has a 20MP camera with LED flash. The device was announced with Face Unlock, which makes it the first Xiaomi to feature that kind of tech.
It comes with the exact 4,000mAh battery as the Redmi Note 5 but again there isn’t fast charging & no USB-C. It will arrive with MIUI 9 on top of Android Nougat. The Redmi Note 5 Pro is designed with in Black, Gold, Rose Gold, & Blue colors.
The Redmi Note 5 appears like a rebranded Redmi 5 Plus for India. It comes with a 5.99-inch, 18:9 display with 2160 by 1080 pixel resolution with rounded corners & curved 2.5D glass. In the inside, there’s a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 chipset with an option of 3GB or 4GB RAM & 32GB or 64GB storage. On the rear is a 12MP, f/2.2 camera & on the front is a 5MP camera with LED flash.
The phone will arrive with MIUI 9 running on top of Android 7.0 Nougat, powered by a 4,000mAh battery but with no quick charging & over a micro USB connector.
The Redmi Note 5 will come in Black, Gold, Rose Gold, & Blue colors.
The Redmi Note 5 Pro costs INR13,999 (4/64GB) & INR16,999 (6/64GB). The Redmi Note 5 is priced at INR9,999 (3/32GB) & INR11,999 (4/64GB). Availability dates aren’t confirmed yet.
